Gujarat CM announces Mukhya Mantri Kisan Sahay Yojana 


Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani has announced Mukhya Mantri Kisan Sahay Yojana for the present Kharif season. Addressing a press conference in Gandhinagar today, he said that all farmers of the state will be covered under this scheme. He said that there is no need to pay any premium or registration process.

 

Mr. Rupani said that the State Government had to pay Rs.5700 crore premium of crop insurance for the current agriculture season. Therefore, the State Government has decided to scrap the tender and choose an alternate simplified crop insurance scheme. The new scheme announced today replaces the existing crop insurance scheme.

 

He said that those who have already paid the premium for the existing scheme will get it to refund. Tribal farmers are also included in this scheme contrary to the previous in which they were excluded.


If the farmer suffers more than 60 percent loss, the state government announced a subsidy of Rs 25,000 per hectare

An important farmer oriented announcement has been made by the state government today. Chief Minister Vijay Rupani has announced Kisan Sahay Yojana. The scheme will benefit all farmers in the state. The scheme will be sufficient for Kharif crop and which will be applicable up to 4 hectares. The scheme covers drought, heavy rains, and droughts. If the loss is from 33% to 60%, Rs. 20,000 per hectare and if the loss is more than 60%, Rs. 25,000 will be provided.

How to apply  for Gujarat Kishan Sahay Yojana 2020

In order to apply online for the scheme, beneficiary farmers will have to go to the e-gram center and apply online on the yojana portal.


Once the application is approved, the approved assistance will be paid directly to the bank account of the beneficiary farmers through DBT.



Scheme Assistance Standards


1. Crop loss in the Kharif season is 33% to 60% for Rs. A maximum of 4 hectares will be available for 20 thousand per hectare.


2. Crop loss in Kharif season for the loss of more than 60% Rs. 25 thousand per hectare will be available at a maximum limit of 4 hectares.



Other important provisions of this scheme



3. Apart from this scheme, the farmer-beneficiaries who are eligible to avail the benefits as per the provisions of the SDRF scheme will also be eligible.



4. To get farmers' applications online with land records and CM. A portal connected to the dashboard has to be prepared.



5. Beneficiary farmers will have to go to the e-gram center and apply online on the portal.



6. The sanctioned assistance will be paid directly through DBT in the bank account of the beneficiaries.



7. A special grievance redressal mechanism will be set up to address the queries of the beneficiary farmers.



8. To help farmers to apply online at the e-gram center at the village level, VLE of the e-gram center will be paid a remuneration of Rs. 8 per successful application.



9. Toll-free number service will be provided for the guidance of farmers.



Risks covered under the scheme



Drought



A taluka which has received less than 10 inches of rainfall during the current season or has not received four consecutive weeks (28 days) of rainfall between the two monsoons in the period from the onset of monsoon in the state till 31st August, i.e. zero rainfall and damaged crops (Drought) risk will be considered.



Heavy rain



The taluka is considered as a unit in case of heavy rains such as cloudburst, continuous heavy rains including 35 inches or more in 48 hours for districts of South Gujarat region (Bharuch, Narmada, Tapi, Surat, Navsari, Valsad and Dang) and in all districts of the state except 48 hours. Rainfall of 25 inches or more is recorded as per the rain gauge of the revenue taluka and damage to the standing crop planted will be considered as risk of excess rainfall.

Non-seasonal rainfall (Mavthu)

A rain gauge in revenue taluka from 15th October to 15th November will receive more than 50mm of rain in 48 consecutive hours and if the crop is damaged in the field, it will be considered as a risk of non-seasonal rain (Mawthu).

Cabinet Minister Jayesh Radadia said that the decision was taken by Chief Minister Vijay Rupani in the interest of the farmers of the state. Farmers had to face many difficulties in the maturation system. More than 56 lakh farmer account holders will directly benefit from this scheme.
